Why Not Use Free Reports To Build Your List

We all love freebies. You've probably seen those credit card application tables that give away pens, pads, or even a cap or shirt simply by signing up.

Those are the freebies at work. People are attracted to free stuff - that's human nature. So why not take advantage of this nature to build your list.

Offer a free report to people for signing up to your mailing list. Technically it's a bribe but think of it as more of an incentive or bonus for giving you what you want - a list.

But then again it's not like you're not giving them something in return. The free report is your advertisement for the product you're selling or promoting.

In it will be excerpts as well as a review of what to expect. Basically it will be your teaser of what potential customers will get if they buy the full package.

Use it to maintain loyalty

Not only is a free report good for getting subscribers - it is also an effective way to keep them with you once you have them.

Just because people are already part of your list doesn't mean you can simply forget about them. On the contrary you need to keep them happy and entertained else they will leave you.

Your goal is to build a list not replenish one. This means it's not worth it to get 100 new subscribers if 100 of your old ones leave because they feel you're not giving them anything to make them stay.

An offer of a free report once in a while can go far in maintaining their trust and loyalty with you. Do a "how-to" report or give them a preview of your next product. This is the best time to do a pre-sell because you already have a captive audience that is looking at what you have to offer them next.

If you're free report is good and your subscribers love them they can actually share it with others so your name gets spread around - and they will do this whether you want them to. So why not give them the rights to share the report. You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain by doing this.

A free report may not seem much but it can actually go a long way in helping you to not only get subscribers but to also keep them and sell to them.

Why Not Create Your Own Video

Millions now go to the internet for anything you can imagine - information, answers, entertainment. In fact entertainment is one of the biggest reasons why people are online.

That is also one reason why video sites are popping up and have become a hot place to go to. YouTube is the biggest video site there is and growing. It is because of sites like these, and easy to use video editing software that anyone can have their own video channel and broadcast what they want when they want it.

You can create your own video.

Sound impossible? Not really - as mentioned above there are a number of easy-to-use video creation and editing softwares or programs out there.

Gone are the days you need to have a bulky camera and big editing machines. A small web cam and your computer is enough.

If you're using windows then movie maker is good and typically comes with your machine or easily downloaded from the Microsoft website. If you're using a MAC (congratulations it's an Apple) then iMovie is the best.

You can also use Camtasia or Animoto if you want. Camtasia has a free trial version and bothy allows you to create short videos.

These video creation and editing programs are intuitive and can help you create videos that you can be proud of.

What to make?

Good question. What should your video be about. It can be about anything as long as it's related to your site or the product and services you're offering.

Or it can be anything at all - something that's totally off what your site is about. The sky's the limit when it comes to what you want to make a video of.

Share information, make people laugh, or teach them how to do stuff - there are many ways to do a video.

What's important is that your video has flow and cohesion. Randomly putting together images and music may be avant gard but it can be confusing to the persons watching it.

Remember, you have a message you want to convey. More importantly you want them to visit your site because of the video. Once you are able to incorporate that into your video the rest is in the creation.

It's highly recommended you have a script so you know what should come next. it doesn't have to be detailed although it's better if it is - you just need to be able to know what you need to create to include it in your video.

Upload to Video Sites.

As mentioned earlier there are a lot of video sites out there but the money is in YouTube. Right now it is the most visited site for videos out there and you definitely want to post your video there.

Creating an account is easy and you can link it with your Gmail account. There are some limitation like length of video, size and copyright concerns but other than that upload away.

You can create your own channel where people can subscribe to you so they automatically get updated when you upload a new video.

Before you know it you will get viewers - viewers who will hopefully visit your site.

Best case scenario people will love your video so much that it will go viral. When that happens you will get a lot more publicity than you can ever hope for.

You will know that when people start coming to your site in numbers.

Here's How You Can Build Your List Of Subscribers

Customer satisfaction is important. Keep your customers happy and they will tell other people resulting in more traffic. Promote your website and you can get traffic. The search engines can bring in traffic as well.

As you get in more traffic the potential for sales increases. That being said the potential of them returning is not really that high - unless you make them "stay" even when they leave by having them subscribe to your mailing list.

With the subscriber list you will be able to keep them updated and send them promotional materials such as newsletters or catalogs. At the same time it's relatively easy and cheap to do since you'll be using email to send them information.

The good thing with an opt-in list is that your subscriber agree to them receiving your materials because they signed up for it. This ensures your messages are not considered spam.

  • Give quality and informative content. If a visitor likes the content you're offering they are more open to signing up and become a part of your list.

  • Offer a freebie - such as a free report or a small ebook. People sign up for free stuff and it has been shown to be an effective marketing tactic.

Be aware that your subscriber may unsubscribe whenever they feel like they are not liking what it is you're sending them. That's why it's important you send them:

    • Good information. Just because they're in your list already doesn't mean you will stop sending them good information. It's actually important that you maintain the quality else your list will leave you.

    • Fun and entertaining promotional materials. Text is boring so spruce it up using pictures and graphics is possible. Be creative without going overboard.

    • Send freebies once in a while. Think of it as a surprise gift for being a loyal subscriber. It could be as simple as a 10 page free report - anything that your subscribers can use.

Do some market research to see what the hottest trends are so you can actually give your subscribers information before anybody else.

If your subscribers can get something of benefit out of your newsletters they will look forward to receiving more and will not leave you. At the same time you are able to maintain their trust in you so they will be more loyal.

Remember, building credibility and trust with your subscribers is hard; destroying it is easy; the unsubscribe link is so convenient.

Do This To Get Your Creative Muse Up And Running

You have a website and you're thinking about doing some promotion so you can get some traffic (or a lot of traffic) coming to your site. That's a good idea since without traffic your site is as good as dead.

You've heard that an effective way to get more exposure for you and your site is to do article marketing. That's a good idea since many successful internet marketers used the same methods to get to where they are.

Article Writing Is Not Just About Putting Pen On Paper

Or putting fingers on keyboard. It's not just about putting your thoughts down. You also need to make sure that your writing gets the interest of your readers.

That's very important - to capture your reader's interests. Not only will you get them to read on but it also lets them get the message you're trying to convey.

In order to write you need to have some creativity. While it can come just like that to some people, for the rest of us it can be as illusive as a ghost. That doesn't mean that you won't get it - it just means that you need to entice your creative muses to show themselves.

There are a couple of ways for you to get some creative inspiration so you can write your article.

    • Relax yourself and your mind. Sometimes if your mind is racing it's hard to think straight, let alone get some new ideas. Let your mind go blank. Do some light breathing or yoga.

    • Once you get your mind clear the ideas can just come up out of the blue. Make sure you have somewhere to write it down because you don't know when that nugget of creative ideas. Keep a journal or a small notebook with you at all times so you can jot down anything that comes to mind.

    • Creativity comes when the mood and environment is just right. Try and see what makes you tick. Maybe you get ideas when you're swimming or when you're in the shower. Maybe you get an idea when you're listening to music. Creativity can come from the most unlikeliest of places and in the most unlikeliest times.

And when the mood hits you make sure you have a place to work at that can further help with your creativity.

It may take a while but once your muses kick in yo'll be writing like crazy. Your articles will be flowing and your readers will be able to tell that too.

Writing Articles - Affordable And Effective

Ask any successful internet marketer and they will tell you that they succeeded in part because of article marketing. What is that? That's writing original content articles and submitting it to article submission directory sites where it can be seen by hundreds of potential visitors who will then visit you courtesy of that handy resource box with a return link.

In article marketing content is very important. The main reason people go online is to look for information to satisfy their curiousity or to answer their questions.

If you are able to provide them that information or answer then your article will be read and potentially your site will be visited. This is especially true if the reader likes what you wrote and is interested in more of the same from you.

Remember this: providing good quality informative content is a surefire way to drive traffic to your site.

So what are the advantage and benefits of doing article marketing?

    • It's relatively cheap - in fact it's free if you do it yourself. A word processor and some time is all you need to create an article which you can then upload to the multitude of article directories out there. If you can't do it yourself, outsource it and pay per article. Many marketers go this route as well.

    • Well known article directories get exposed to hundreds of visitors and is liked by the search engines. This will potentially increase the chances your article will be seen and read.

    • Helps you with the search engines. If you didn't forget your resource box with a link back to your site then it's good. This is because the search engine crawlers in the article directory will follow that link and begin crawling your site. This will further increase your site's exposure as this can help rank your site up higher in the search engine results page. Results: more traffic for your site.

Other than traffic you also get to build your credibility and gain the trust of your visitors and potential customers. As more and more people see that you give quality information, they will see you as an expert in the field and will trust you more.

This means it will be easier for you to convince them to buy from you or use a product.

Once you are able to do that you can convert them from visitors to customers - paying customers.

Want To Get To Your Customer's Heads - Use Articles

Article marketing is a way of promoting your site and product for free with the added benefit of boosting your credibility and standing in your market so you can build more trust with your customers.

This is very important because credibility and trust is something that you need to build with your customers to get them to buy from you. One way of doing that is to become or be seen as an expert in your field. Article marketing does that for you.

It's not that hard to do and the benefits are many.

    • Write content. It can be anything that's informative and worth reading. It is recommended you write something that is at least connected with your site and the product or service you're offering or promoting.

It wouldn't be a god idea to write something about dogs and promote a site about shovels - an extreme example but you do see the disconnect. If it were something about dogs and your site is about allergies then there could be a connection.

    • Submit to article directories. There are a lot of them online. These are sites that accept and publish articles from anyone. At the same time they allow anyone to use the articles on their site for free - provided they keep the resource box with the proper attribution and back link to the author's site.

Before you submit, make sure you read the terms of the article directories and don't forget to write the resource box with your name as author and a link back to your site.

By doing this you ensure that your name gets out there and that should anyone posts your article in their website there is a link going back to you - which helps you in ranking with the search engines.

If it's really good, your article can go viral as it gets posted in site after site. Now imagine just what kind of impact that would have on you and your site as you get free publicity and your site gets exposed to more and more people. You can expect your site's traffic to jump.

As more and more of your articles get spread around the different sites the total number of links going back to your site will increase. Search engines love these types of links as it shows the importance of a site so they will use that as a basis to rank your site higher.

So when someone searches for you, you can easily be seen since you may wind up on the first page of their search engine results page.

The best part is that in half an hour to an hour you can churn out an article and be ready to submit it to article submission sites.

It may seem insignificant when you submit your first article but once you have a lot and it gets spread out even more you will be able to see the effects and you will like it.

So do article marketing and use it to get to your customer's heads that you are someone worth trusting and buying from.

What Should Your Ezine Be About

By that I mean what is the nature of your Ezine. The direction that you take with your content can help determine whether people will love it or hate it.

There are several factors you need to consider when deciding on what your Ezine should be about. These factors will guide you to the ultimate goal of your Ezine.

    • Target Market. What segment of the market are you focusing your Ezine on. You need to know this in order to have an idea as to the direction of your content. At the same time if you don't then you might wind up catering to a segment that is not really your strongest one.

      • Topics of discussion. Even if you have narrowed your target market what are you going to write about. For example dating is a well known target but what about dating will you talk about - what should be done? From what perspective - the man or the woman? And so on and so forth.

        • Time. Or rather don't be time-sensitive. Write content on general topics, not those that have an expiration date. Dating your content will make it harder for you to write stuff out in advance. If you're sending out your Ezine through an autoresponder program then the timing of it will be wrong for people who signed up later.

What I mean is that the Valentine dating tip will work for others that signed up from the very beginning but for those that joined later they may get that content sometime in March or April depending on when they joined. That would be a little bad.

Instead, write general stories or articles that won't matter if it was read in January or sometime in August. This makes it applicable for all your readers and at the same time you can just write these out in advance and plug them in to be sent out on dates you specify.

It would also be a good time to plug in all those product promotions and endorsements - yours or affiliate ones. It's the best time to earn some money and works effectively if you have a high credibility factor with your list.

That's why it is important to give your readers good quality and informative content because that is what they are looking for. Do this and you are on your way to becoming a successful internet marketer.
